Today I concentrated to think about what I resist in life. The first things in my mind came are people and things I have a negative attitude towards.. Someone who annoys me by just his presence, someone who has criticized me without a reason, an organisation that has led me down.
All this negative energy when I think about them is something to get rid of. Now I am letting myself feel these feelings, it’s not like I forbid them. It is more like I am being true to myself and I let myself notice them. Noticing is always step 1.
Step 1: Noticing.
I have to notice that I cannot control anyone, and I don’t even have to understand their motifs, I can just accept that they are who they are, they do what they do and ALL I CAN DO is to change my own attitude.
Step 2: Changing attitude.
When you start noticing that this is the only thing you CAN control, then you have already started to change your attitude. You can try to do these mental trainings of trying to think about the thing that you have a negative attitude towards and in your mind picture it a neutral thing, a thing that doesn’t affect you, is far away from you, not a part of you and out of your control. We can only take responsibility on what we have control of and that is our own body and mind.
I don’t know what is Step 3 but I’m sure I’ll figure it out as I go along my journey.
